I bought this for my son, since we are planning a big trip and I wanted him to be able to print out his pictures along the way to make a scrapbook. However, once I opened the box and printed out my first picture I declaired it mine. The picture quality is amazing. It looks like it came from the photo lab. I love that there is just enough ink to do the number of pictures that come with the ink, so you dont run out of black but have plenty of yellow. My son loves watching it print. It pulls the paper back and forth laying down a yellow layer, then red, then blue, then a clear coat. oh yeah, these pictures are WATERPROOF! I can’t tell you how happy I was about that feature after ha ving so many of my HP printer images get ruined when splashed on. After playing with this printer for a bit, I decided my mother had to have one and I also bought 4 for my job; since we need to do printing on location without a computer it is a perfect fit.

Finaly found a print server that works with the Minolta Magicolour 2300W. Although not on the published compatability list I took a chance and bought the EDIMAX GDI Print Server Model PS-1216U. This print server is available for aprox .00 US.. + shipping… The server comes with a CD which includes SW to install drivers which links Minolta GDI driver with the Print Server…The server uses a usb2 interface to connect with the GDI prnter. I now have it working and have printed a few pages from my WinXP pc.. So far so good….The product claims includes suport for Win 2K, vista and windows 7 .. but I did not test these… The server has a built in webpage for device configuration… The server can also be setup using the included setup/installation software.

HP has really become of the leaders in home based technology from their personal computers and laptops to being the folks that brought all-in-one printing into the home. Back when the internet first began gaining popularity and Microsoft Works was still the word processor of choice I owned a Hewlett Packard and swore them off ever since. However, that changes a couple of years ago when I purchased my first all-in-one printer which did photos. I fell in love with the crisp quality of the printing, the ability to use the machine without needing to hook it up to a computer but I hated the bulkiness of the required software, especially on my Macintosh. If I would have taken a minute to look at the hp inkjet printer reviews out there instead of making an impulse buy, I probably would have chosen a different model. We live and learn right?
